Piazza San Marco in Venice. We were able to make our way through the labyrinth that is Venice with the help of graffiti arrows labeled ‘San Marco’ on the walls (wish I had taken pictures!). After blindly going through the dark, tiny walkways we suddenly found ourselves under an open, pale sky, next to the beautifully washed out St. Mark’s Basilica. It was a foggy and cloudy day, but it couldn’t have been more perfect with the faded pastels of the buildings and the murky green water of the canal.

Venice was a bit of a shock after how spotlessly clean and modernized Switzerland was, but it’s just so dreamy.

The swans in Switzerland come right up to your face looking for food- I managed to get a selfie with one (was scared of getting attacked but it was worth it). Also, the beautiful thing about taking the trains to each city is that you get a view! I was able to witness the sun setting as the mountains and hills rolled past and it was a lovely goodbye to Switzerland as we headed into Italy.

The 1.5 days I have spent in Lucerne, Switzerland has probably been one of the most peaceful 1.5 days of my life in a while. If there is anything anyone will ever get out of my blog, I hope it is this: If you ever get the opportunity, go to Switzerland!! Go to the Alps! Lucerne was like walking into a picture book. You’re surrounded by so much untouched, natural beauty, that I still have a hard time believing I was actually there, it all felt like a dream.
